Benrath Palace, built in the Rococo style in 1773, majestically stands in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, and is an outstanding example of 18th-century architecture. Surrounded by a picturesque park, it was designed by architect Nicolas de Pigage for Elector Carl Theodor and his wife, Elisabeth Auguste of Palatinate-Sulzbach, as a summer residence. The building complex is divided into the Cavalier Main Building, the Corps de Logis, and two symmetrical forecourt buildings.
