The Dobbertin Monastery, located in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany, embodies an impressive span of historical architecture and culture. Founded in 1220, it represents an outstanding example of Northern German Brick Gothic.
During its active years, the monastery housed nuns of the Cistercian Order. Besides their religious dedication, they were also known for their educational work. The monastery church, dedicated to Saint Peter, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture, served as their place of prayer.
